The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Generally presenting well; some light scratches, rubbing wear and scattered minute scuffs, tiny dings and fleabites at the surface, consistent with age and handling; the underside with the typical scratching consistent with age and placement; a short crack (approx. ¹⁄₄ long at the exterior and ³⁄₄ in. long at the interior) to the side, beneath the right elbow of the athlete flexing his arms behind his back; a longer crack (approx. 12 in. along its length) extending from the neck of the athlete flexing his back, diagonally across his shoulder-blade and down across the thigh and down the shin of the figure to his left.
