Oil on canvas. Not lined. Brown tape along the edges. Some frame abrasion. A few networks of fine lines of craquelure, predominantly in the dark blue paint, with a few further lines elsewhere. A few pin point paint losses towards the upper left corner and centre left edge. Some spots of surface dirt. Examined under ultraviolet light: the surface is difficult to read due to the thick varnish layer, however, there is a small area of retouching to the left of the figure's face in the orange pigment and towards the left edge of the blue window.
