The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Good overall condition. The illustrations published on the website catalogue are slightly too red and too bright compared to the reality. There are the inevitable minor dents, marks, scratches, shrinkage cracks and rubbing consistent with age and use. Marble: there are inevitable chips especially to the edges. There are inevitable stains and scratches to the surface. Chinese lacquer: there are restored shrinkage cracks on each panel. There are minor chips to the surface of the lacquer. There are some minor humidity stains to the panel of the right side. There are some different red shades on the lacquer. Bronzes and gilding: There are inevitable signs of tarnishing and verdigris to the bronzes. One little bronze element is missing to the decoration at the right of the front. Inside veneer: there are some lifting to the veneer. There are some vertical shrinkage cracks to the back of the doors. The wood structure at the back has some old traces of woodworms, apparently inactive.
