Ce modèle de pendule connu un très grand succès au XVIIIe siècle. À la fois caractéristique des évolutions stylistiques et mécaniques de la fin du siècle , elle présente un cadran à cercles tournants, sans aiguilles, dans un style néoclassique. Plusieurs exemples similaires et datés de la fin du XVIIIe siècle sont répertoriés (P. Kjellberg, op. cit. ; coll. Palais Pavlosk, cat. d’exp. op. cit. ; vente Etude Provence, Marseille, 09 août 2015, lot 30). Un modèle dont le succès n’a pas tari au XIXe siècle, comme nous le montre la présente pendule.

The website illustrations are accurate. Good overall condition There are the inevitable minor dents, marks, scratches and rubbing consistent with age and use. Signs of tarnishing to the bronze especially to the dial. The vase slightly loose. One hole to the back probably for the mechanism or for a missing ormolu element. One feet is detached. Marble : slightly yellowish with minor cracks and chips to the edges. Please note that this condition report has been written from a work of art and not a time-measuring object point of view. Therefore this lot has to be checked by a professional clock-maker.
