Shaped rectangular, the cover, sides and base set with engine-turned quatrefoils on reeded ground, the sides with lilies at the corners, the underside with band of scrolls and flowers, the cover chased with elaborate gothic style scrolling frame and centred with a cartouche of polished gold engraved with gothic initials 'D de S' under coronet, marked on flange with lion's head facing left and letter J under coronet
