The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

La toile a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage ancien, puis a été désentoilée. Des traces de l'ancienne colle de rentoilage sont visibles au revers de la toile et il y a des signes de tension de la toile. La toile est désormais maintenue sous tension grâce à des bandes de tension sur son châssis à clés. L'ensemble est stable.
À la lumière naturelle, le tableau présente très bien, tous les détails de la composition étant bien préservés. On constate une légère abrasion du cadre le long des bords de la toile. La marque de l'ancien est visible le long du bord supérieur de la composition, à 4 cm du bord. Le ciel présente un léger amincissement de matière picturale.
L'examen sous lumière UV révèle une ligne horizontale de restauration sous le bateau amarré en bas à droite. Il y a quelques retouches très mineures éparpillées sur l'eau en bas à gauche. Dans l'ensemble, le tableau est en très bon état.

The canvas has been historically lined and subsequently delined. Traces of the old lining glue can be seen to the reverse of the canvas and there is evidence of canvas pull. The canvas is now held under tension with strip lining on its keyed stretcher. The whole is stable.
In natural light the painting presents very well, with all the details of the composition well preserved. There is some slight frame abrasion to the very edges of the canvas. The line of the historic stretcher bar can be seen running along the upper edge of the composition, 4 cm in from the edge. There has been some slight thinning in the sky.
Examination under UV light reveals a horizontal line of restoration beneath the boat moored at lower right. There is some further very minor scattered retouching to the water at lower left. The painting is in very good condition overall.
