The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Good overall condition.
The illustrations published in the website catalogue are accurate.
There are inevitable dents, marks, scratches and rubbing consistent with age and use.
Lacquer: Some minor tiny chips to the surface, as expected, especially to the edges. There are minor surface craquelure visible in places. There is a horizontal crack with associated losses to the lower section of the bottom drawer and also some losses to the lacquer adjacent to the upper right handle, revealing the bare wood underneath. There are a few minor losses to the left-hand side.
Gilt-bronze mounts with expected signs of tarnishing and rubbing to the surface. Some black spots, as expected. Two elements (sabots) need to be refixed properly (One of the sabots is not shown in the photographs, as it was kept in a secure location together with the key).
Marble: there are some scratches to the surface as expected. There are some minor chips especially to the edges. There is one small loss to the back right corner underneath. There is a trace of restoration to the same corner (the back right).
With one key.
