The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The one dated 1755: leaning slightly with base slightly pushed down on one side but with no split in the base; some light bruising to the foot-rim and on high points; wear to the gilding; scrolls of calyxes bent; one calyx on the cover possibly lacking and plinth of finial possibly restored.
The one dated 1753: slight difference of gilding on cover and body; light bruising on high points; calyxes lacking; threading possibly replaced; the stem possibly restored; the cover with bent tips making it a bit tight on the base.
