The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Oil on canvas. Varnished. The canvas has been restretched. Some frame abrasion and rubbing to the extreme edges with associated pigment loss. Some minor surface dirt and a few pinpoint surface accretions in places. A minor surface indent in the composition above the horizon line in the upper right quadrant. Examined under ultraviolet light: two small pinpoints of retouching in the upper corners. Subject to the foregoing it is in our opinion that this works appears in good condition.
