The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In overall good 'country house' condition
There are the inevitable marks, chips, scratches, losses and restorations consistent with age and use.
The top with some surface scratches and water marks, the two central wooden panels with a horizontal shrinkage split and a smaller additional split to the right hand side.
Small patches of restoration to the moulded edge to the front left corner and a replacement to the moulding on the front right corner.
Some patched repairs to the timber throughout including but not limited to the front left and centre of the moulded edge and the back left corner of the top.
The moulded edge to the base with some losses larger knicks and areas of restoration.
The metalware in good order. As stated in the cataloguing the lock replaced.
Overall retains the timber retains a warm rich tone, structurally sound and ready to place.
