The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In 'country house' condition, with some sun fading and wear throughout, most noticeably effecting the inscriptive text.
There are the inevitable minor wear and tears consistent with age and use, and a build up of historic dirt, with the tapestry benefiting from a clean.
There are areas of infill and stabilization of the weave throughout, with brown and green thread used in the borders and main composition respectively.
Further black reweaving to the text and some further areas of minor reweaving throughout, for example to the yellow background of the central figure.
Some gaping in the fabric to the upper portion of the tapestry.
Overall the composition is compelling and well defined, and the blue thread retains a vibrant hue.
