Shaped oval, on four claw and shell feet, the sides pierced with panels of trelliswork framed by stylised scrolls, the rim cast and chased with vines and Ceres mask at each end, the swing handle with dolphin terminals, the centre chased with a band of rococo ornament and engraved with a coat-of-arms within foliage cartouche, the handle with a crest, marked underneath

The arms are those of Warde impaling Thornhaugh, for Patientus Warde (1717-1786) of Hooton Pagnell Hall, Yorkshire and his wife Frances (d.1762), daughter of St Andrew Thornhaugh (1674-1742) of Fenton and Osberton, Nottinghamshire, whom he married in 1744.
