Campana shape, on spreading foot chased with a band of matted oak leaves, the bombé lower part chased with alternating acanthus and palm leaves, applied below the everted rim with a vine tendril and grapes and with two scrolling foliate handles, the cover with acanthus bud finial, later engraved in centre with a coat-of-arms above a motto, marked on body and in cover, stamped on underside with number 455

The later arms are those of Foster for John Foster (1798-1879), a worsted cloth manufacturer of Bradford, West Yorkshire. In 1819 he established his successful and profitable business, building the Black Dyke Mills in 1835. The business survives to this day. Later in life he acquired and restored Hornby Castle, Lancashire.
