The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The first (Warlock) and last (Tomboy) appear to have been lined. The other canvas are unlined. All are on the original stretchers which are providing good support. There is some craquelure visible to Gabriel, and to the right of Redrose.
Under UV light they appear as follows:
Warlock - there are scattered spots of infilling and reotuching mainly in the sky.
Tastewell - there are scattered spots of retouching in the sky.
Gabriel - there is some retouching to old frame abrasions at the left hand edge and a few spots of retouching in the sky.
Gallant - there is some retouching to old frame abrasions mostly at the lower edge, and one or two spots in the background.
Redrose - there are a few minor spots of retouching to the background and to some of the frame edges.
Tastety - no significant signs of damage or restoration visible.
Tomboy - there is an area of retouching to the left of the upper edge.
There are some minor losses to the green painted wood frames. Otherwise the pictures are ready to hang.
