This large and impressive table is in generally good overall condition.
There is some fading throughout and slight difference in fading between the sections.
Repolished at some time a little dull and with some minor pot marking and very minor shrinkage and movement throughout
Clips repositioned and some receptors non-matching - non-matching clips present. Some marks from possibly being previously fitted with rotary catches.
Minor split to the edge of one of the central sections in line with the hole for the central lug.
All sections tilt to the side with brass locking mechanisms. The veneered oak blocks to the top of the pedestals with some shrinkage cracking to the joints and some patching, splitting and loss to the veneers (only visible when the table tops are tilted) all remain relatively firm and the veneer losses are not visible when the table top is in position for use. There is a possibility that the end sections may have been historically re-shaped but this is not conclusive. As stated in the cataloguing text, the top probably original.
One later additional leaf present, this is scratched and warped and in generally poor condition, unlike the rest of the table.
The end sections previously, but not originally with additional bearers, presumably for use without the central pedestal sections.
The pedestal bases all in generally good order and firm .
Generally good overall condition
