The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In good 'country house' condition, with evidence of restoration throughout. The frames with some marks, scratches and losses consistent with age and use. Some further shrinkage around the joins of construction.
The canvases present well in natural light and retain adequate tension on their stretchers. Passages of restoration, consolidation, contour strengthening and scattered retouchings are present throughout each canvas, some of which are associated to canvas joins or old damages. Some of the historic restoration has discoloured slightly. A couple of the canvases exhibit one or two minor tears and holes, some of which have been repaired, and some passages of minor paint loss and flaking.
Overall these panels are highly imaginative and decorative and would enliven any interior.
