Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
With a clean, complete well-maintained appearance, structurally sound and ready to place. The ormolu with some minor surface scratches, casting flaws, verdigris and rubbing, as to be expected. Appears to retain its original mercury gilding. One handle to the kylix at the top repaired with a small amount of dark solder. Some rubbing to the painted Roman numeral hour markers. The figure of Cupid is holding the stem of a cup, its bowl lacking. A small vacant hole to the proper right side of the central plinth. The ewer and its plinth now loose, recommend securing. The malachite with the expected minor wear, 'nibbles', small losses and areas of fill. The bell and bell-nut lacking.
Please note: Christie's does not guarantee the working condition of clock movements.
