The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Lovely pair of settees. Good, useable scale. Each with a clean, complete well-maintained appearance, structurally sound and ready to use. Each with scattered age and construction cracks, and with general overall marks, nicks, surface scratches, tiny losses and repairs consistent with age and use. Both with scattered repairs to the fluting around the rails, and to the upper sections of its two outer front legs. One settee also repaired at its two arm supports and where the proper left upright joins the toprail at the back. The screw-blocks to the undersides replaced. The later upholstery with marks, faint discoloration, some small tears and generally with overall signs of wear, as to be expected from use, most prominently at the armrests and one drop cushion.
