The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In good overall condition, the porcelain bodies drilled in the mounting process, including through the underglaze blue marks. The porcelain overall with some minor imperfections, in the making, and scattered minor scratches, rubbing and wear to the surfaces, consistent with age and handling. One cover with a star crack centered around its ormolu finial, and the other with a short rim hairline to the glaze at the underside. One body restored. The other with three faint hairlines to the rim, mainly visible to the interior. The ormolu mounts appear to retain their original mercury gilding, with a nice, soft tone. The ormolu with some minor surface scratches, casting flaws, verdigris and rubbing, as to be expected.
