Presenting well overall, ready to place. The globe with the expected fading, yellowing, light scratches, scuffs and general wear; its surface polished or later varnished, not under the hour dial at the North Pole. Some craquelure to the surface, apparently under the highest varnish, mainly in the Southern Hemisphere. Evidence of an second hour dial, now lacking, at the South Pole, and of an old rectangular label to the North Atlantic. The stand in good overall condtion, with scattered age and construction cracks. Overall with general marks, nicks, surface scratches, tiny losses and repairs consistent with age and use; including a loss to the decoration (approx. 3 cm. long, 2 cm. wide) at the 'February' sector. Repaired at one arm, and at the stem, the compass reattached. Overall good condition, ready to place.
