The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

A very nice set of chairs. High quality and much better appreciated in person-- the catalogue photos do not do them justice. The color is much more chocolate-colored, slightly polished, but not with the reddish tint one sees in the catalogue photos. The chairs are ready to use, and have the typical expected minor age and construction cracks as well as the general marks, nicks, surface scratches, tiny losses and repairs, etc.
The shoe-piece applied to top of each back rail with some restorations and subsequent infill, which appears slightly discolored when viewed under bright and direct light. This suggests restorations most likely related to re-upholstering. Most of the chairs with some repairs to the upper corners, to the rungs at the backs, or to the stretchers, but these are generally minor and not extensive. The armchair marked '7' with more notable repairs, including to both uprights and both middle rungs. Overall with evidence of minor woodworm, now inactive. Chairs 2 and 4 with additional corner braces to their undersides for additional support; some varying minor repairs to underside of seatrails as to be expected.
The upholstery with marks, faint discoloration and overall signs of wear, as to be expected from use. Overall presenting well, ready to place.
