With a clean, complete well-maintained appearance, structurally sound and ready to use. With scattered age and construction cracks. Overall with general marks, nicks, surface scratches, tiny losses and repairs consistent with age and use, including a fair number of chips around the feet, revealing base wood below the simulated rosewood finish. The front proper left foot of the chair frame stamped 'IIII' is repaired. As stated in the cataloguing, the chairs and seats are impressed with Roman numerals; the peg at the back rail of the seat stamped 'V' is currently broken-off inside the hole on the back rail of the seat stamped 'I'. The highest number on the chairs is 'X', indicating that these once belonged to a set of ten or more. Overall with evidence of minor woodworm damage, now inactive. The upholstery with marks, faint discoloration and overall signs of wear, as to be expected from use.
