Overall in very good condition. The enamel with generally well preserved. The silver and gilt-metal with minor oxidation. Generally with very light surface wear.
The lapis box with some minor rubbing and small losses to the enamel. The white enamel with some slight yellowing in areas primarily along the lowest band, but not extensive. One of the lapis triangles on lid slightly loose in place but secure. The lid lacking the corner finial to back left corner. The etched silver scenes with some tarnish, and some areas with surface wear and rubbing resulting in some loss to the gilding. With a buildup of polish residue in the corners. The glass with very minor surface wear including a minute scratch to the left side, hardly visible. The interior with some light oxidation and tarnish. Some of the thin metal elements slightly out of shape, as a result of age and handling, as expected, but presents very well overall, sound and ready to place.
The rock crystal box with natural inclusions, some light surface wear, including some very faint surface scratches, not extensive. Some panels with some very minor ‘nibbling’ to the corners within the bezels and not readily visible, all secure in place. With some wear and rubbing to the enamel, resulting in some minor losses, including to the front panel upper right corner, and some of the raised areas on the feet.. With some rubbing to the gilding. With a build up of polish residue in some crevices. The interior with some minor oxidation and tarnish. Possibly with some very minor touch up to the enamel in the lower corners, not extensive, possibly as a result of very minor restoration of the spirals on the feet – likely bending back in place - not readily noticeable and well matched. Some of the feet very slightly loose, but secure, steady and ready to place. Presents very well overall.
