The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Sturdy table. Structurally sound and ready to use. With the typical minor scattered age and construction cracks. General small marks, nicks, surface scratches, etc. as is expected. For example, the stem and legs each with some vertical age cracks and the top with a few tight cracks in from the edge, the longest approx. 24 in. long and has been stabilized with a dovetail inserted at the underside, not visible from top and very secure.
Top is slightly glossy and with a bit of sun-fading to the timber, the additional leaves also with a polished surface, but are darker in color creating a nice visual contrast as shown in supplemental catalogue images. The lovely crossbanded veneers which are on the additional leaves have some minor scattered fraying and some lifting with signs of previous well-executed infill and restorations. Scattered chips to the inner corners of the leaves, not distracting or readily noticeable. The leaves interlock with one another by a tongue and groove joint at their ends; the 'tongue' on leaf D, where it joins with leaf E, is broken off but still functional and still visually complete.
The brass with some minor surface scratches and rubbing, as to be expected. As stated in the cataloguing, the leaves are in their original case, with the typical wear for its age. With an extra bearer for the leaves; lacking the brass clasps to join the leaves to one another.
