Shaped oval on four openwork scroll feet, the sides pierced with panels of trelliswork, the gadrooned border with shell and scroll rim, the pierced swing handle with double scrolls terminals, engraved in centre with the Royal crest above a Royal Duke's coronet, within within a motto, engraved on underside with later inscription, marked on side, engraved underneath with scratch weight 38:9

The crest is that of Prince William, Duke of Clarence (1765-1837), later King William IV of Great Britain, Ireland and Hanover.
The inscription reads: 'To George Lascelles on his confirmation from his Grandmother Mary R., November 1938'.
