The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

These attractive chairs are in good ready-to-place condition.
There are the inevitable marks, chips and scratches, restorations and replacements consistent with age and use, including but not limited to:

Chair A
Repair to the centre of the apron rail.
The right side seat rail with spliced repairs and with later oak capping to the underside.
Spliced repairs to the back seat rail.
The back right and left ears replaced. Repairs to the back left side carved ear and to the front left carved ear.
The arms probably associated.
Spliced repairs to the top of the arm uprights.
Repairs and replacements to the front feet.
The castors later.

Chair B:
The seat rails and cross-braces later.
Repairs and replacements to the left and right side oak seat rail cappings.
The apron rail with replaced ends.
The front and back right side ears replaced.
The front left and right scroll foot probably replaced.
Repairs to both arm uprights adjacent to the knuckles.


Traces of historic, apparently inactive woodworm to both.
The upholstery is in good order with only minor wear.
Structurally sound and ready to use.
