The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The example painted with leopards: with a hole to body just below one leopard which is 2.5cm diam., with associated hairline cracking and some glaze losses to interior, some chipping to rims, the largest of which is 3.5cm wide to upper rim, with some sanded areas of misfiring to the trees and some typical glaze flaking to rims and handles.
The example with rearing stallions: a large area of the neck has been cracked into several pieces and restored with associated overpainting and with travelling hairline cracks extending into the body on both sides of the vase. There is some associated in-filling and glaze chipping to both sides of the vase, effecting the stallions, with one side with a more noticeable patch of yellowed restoration to the area, some restored glaze chipping to footrim. One handle cracked and restored.
