The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Generally in good order; some wear to the gilding, mainly at the rims; some light surface wear; a few scattered chips; some scattered fine crazing and light staining in spots; some kiln spitting and other small flaws in the making. Further condition details and sizes below:
A circular two-handled footed soup-tureen, cover and stand, 131⁄8 in. wide (the tureen)—Some crazing and staining, mainly to the stand; the tureen with tiny chips to the footrim; the cover restored.
A five-piece supper set composed of four angled vegetable dishes and covers and a central footed circular vegetable dish and cover, 133⁄4 in. long (the angled dishes)— One angled dish with a small star crack below one handle; some small firing lines in the making, one with an associated short hairline to the reverse; otherwise in good order.
A navette-shaped compote, 125⁄8 in. long—The wide border sprayed making it difficult to tell what has been done.
Two circular two-handled sauce-tureens, covers and stands, 81⁄8 in. diameter (the stands)—One cover restored, the old restoration now a bit yellowed to the interior; the border of one stand restored; otherwise in good order.
Four shaped circular serving-dishes, 9 in. diameter-- Good condition.
A butter-tub and cover, 47⁄8 in. wide—Nice condition.
A muffin-dish and cover, 8 in. diameter—Good condition.
Eight oval platters in six sizes:
--20 in. wide (with crest in center)- Presents well but with spray restoration to the wide border; some craze lines.
--193⁄4 in. wide- Some staining and crazing to the border/well; a small hairline to the footrim.
--175⁄8 in. wide- Hairline rim cracks at 3 and 5 o’clock and a small one to the footrim.
--16 in. wide- Generally good order.
--2 platters 14 in. wide- One in good order; the other restored and with two stained lines to the reverse.
--2 platters 14 in. wide (crests in center)—In good order.
Forty-five dinner-plates, 91⁄4 in. diameter—Generally in good order; some heavier wear to the gilding on some; a few (approx. 5) with chips to the underside of the rim; a few with very faint rim lines (approx. 4), one of these also with some blackened spots to the underside at center; five with a faint Y, X or star-shaped hairline to the center, mainly visible at reverse.
Twenty-three soup-plates, 93⁄8 in. diameter- Overall good condition; a few plates with some kiln spitting in the making; two plates with spray restoration; one with a long firing line to the reverse of the rim in the making.
Twenty-four salad or dessert plates, 8 in. diameter- Overall good condition; one with spray restoration; one with kiln spitting to the underside of the rim in making.
A side plate, 63⁄4 in. diameter- Nice condition; a tiny firing line to the rim.
