The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Presents well; with typical scratches and light wear, some fritting and chips, mainly to the rims/reverse, with touch-up to the upper rim of the well; some rubbing to the glaze at the footrim where the dish rests; with a large (approx. 101⁄2 in.) crescent-shaped rim break with an associated crack at 6 o'clock that stretches through the griffin's claws on the shield, up to the well near 11 o'clock before splitting and cutting back down to the rim at 11 o'clock and 8 o'clock, with some related small touch-ups. Please see map of breaks in additional condition images.
