251⁄2 in. (65 cm.) high, 281⁄2 in. (72.5 cm.) wide, 7 in. (18 cm.) deep
In good overall condition, with a clean, complete, well-maintained appearance. As stated in the cataloguing, the case is circa 1825 and the movement, dial and hands are circa 1890. One of Psyche's wings is slightly loose. The ormolu and patinated bronze with some minor surface scratches, casting flaws, verdigris and rubbing, as to be expected. The marble with light scratches throughout and some chips, 'nibbles' and small repairs, mainly to edges of the plinth base, consistent with age and handling. The glazing over the dial has a small chip at the 12 o'clock position. Could overall benefit from a gentle cleaning. Ready to place.
