The first mark of Barré, oval, both sections of the cover and body chased with arched oval reserves containing trophies of music and love, the slightly domed cover chased with a rosette, the matrix engraved with two coats-of-arms accolé, marked on interior of cover with date letter I, maker's mark, and charge mark for Julien Alaterre, 1768-1775, the flange with decharge mark, also with post-1847 petite garantie eagle head mark twice, and third mark, unidentified; The second mark of Choconain-Delaunay, slightly tapering rectangular, both sides of cover and body with engine-turned panels stamped with pellets at intervals and between raised foliate borders, the slightly domed cover chased with a rosette, blank matrix, marked on interior of cover with date letter P, maker's mark and charge mark for Francois Kalendrin, 1789-1792, the flange with two decharge marks and twice with later French control mark for foreign items 1864-1893; The third mark of Joubert, oval, the cover and body chased with vertical flutes hung with laurel swags within borders of quatrefoils and bright cut raised rims, the slightly domed cover chased with a foliate lozenge within an oval, the matrix later engraved with script monogram BC, marked on interior of cover with date letter S, maker's mark, and charge mark for Henri Clavel, 1781-1783, the flange with decharge mark, also with contremarque 1789-1792 and later control mark twice
