Charles-Nicolas Odiot joined the family business in 1823, registering his mark in 1826. However his father, Jean-Baptiste-Claude Odiot, before retiring from the business, sent him to Garrard's workshops in London for further training.Charles-Nicolas brought back not only new mechanised manufacturing techniques, but also ornamental motifs that have come to be known as the “English style”. This influence is here recognisable in the large swirling gadroons and heavy foliate terminals typical of the George III style after silversmiths such as Paul Storr.

Charles-Nicolas en ramène non seulement de nouvelles techniques de fabrication plus mécanisées mais aussi des motifs ornemantaux que l'on a appelé le "style anglais" reconnaissable ici dans les grosses côtes torses et les lourdes attaches feuillagées typique du style George III d’après des orfèvres tels que Paul Storr.
