Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Condition report : The website illustrations are accurate. The silk pile appears to be in very good condition, resting well above the knot collar. The gilt metal-thread has tarnished and is to be expected and is darker in tone but appears stable and intact. The colour palette remains well saturated and there is little colour fade between the face and the reverse of the rug. There is a inscription of 5 Chinese characters in the end indigo outer guard stripe. The long golden silk braided fringes are mostly intact at one end with partial loss at the other. Overall this rug is in very good condition.
