The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This pair of pedestals is in good country house condition.
Some losses, flakes and chips to the paintwork, consistent with age and use.
The tops with some larger losses to the paintwork, in some places with the bare timber showing.
Some minor wear to the carving, particularly to the extremities.
Some more obvious losses to the paintwork on the bases of the pedestals, showing some white paint beneath and the bare timber in some places.
Some shrinkage cracks consistent with age and use.
As stated in the cataloguing, the pedestals are reduced in height and the tops reduced accordingly.
