A: Later screwed corner blocks. The front and the side seat rails with later capping. Front left leg with split at top. Spliced repairs to cresting rail joints.
B: Later screwed corner blocks. Repairs to cresting rail joints.
C: Later screwed corner blocks. Left side seat rail capped. Repairs to front left and right seat rail joints. Repairs to carving at top of front legs. Spliced repairs to cresting rail joints. Large spliced repair from the base of the splat about the back right leg. Repair to left side of lower chair back.
D: As stated in the cataloguing, of later date, of 20th century manufacture.
E: Later screwed corner blocks. With pencil inscription 24/5/46. False tenon cut into front of left side seat rail. Spliced repairs to cresting rail. Repaired break to bottom of chair back.
F: Later screwed corner blocks. Later capping to right side seat rail and repairs to front and back joints on right side seat rail. Stamped 'WN' several times. with remnants of paper label False tenon cut into the front of right side seat rail. Both back legs and the chair back are later.
G: As stated in the cataloguing of later date, of 20th century manufacture. With a break to the base of the chair back.
H: Later screwed corner blocks. Large spliced repairs to left and right side of cresting rail.
I: As stated in the cataloguing, of later date, of 20th century manufacture.
J: Later screwed corner blocks. Stamped 'WN'. Large spliced repair to left and right side of cresting rail and large spliced repairs to left and right side of lower chair back.
K: Later screwed corner blocks. Stamped 'WN'. False tenons cut into front and back of left side seat rail. Large spliced repairs to left and right side of cresting rail.
L: Later screwed corner blocks. Stamped 'WN'. Small capping to front seat rail. Large spliced repairs to left and right sides of cresting rail.
M: Small spliced repair to left side seat rail. Cramp cuts to the front rail. Repaired break to cresting rail and to lower chair back.
N: Spliced repair to right end of front rail. Cramp cuts to the front rail. Repairs to both arms where the joint meets the back.
Traces of historic, apparently inactive woodworm.
The upholstery is fairly worn and faded overall.
Structurally sound and ready to place.
