Lot Essay

Petrus Nahuys (1692-1766) vicar in Monnickendam and Sara Catherine van Hoecke (deceased 1720) were married on the 28th of February 1719 in the Kloosterkerk, the Hague (see D.G. van Epen, Adelsarchief, The Hague, 1903-1904, pp. 85-87). See Aronson, Below the Glaze, Dated Delftware, 2022, p. 109 for another pair of plates from this same rare service.
