The shaped crest rail flanked by serpentine ears continuing to out-scrolling arms, loose seat cushion on saddle-shaped seat over shell-carved cabriole legs ending in pad feet connected by block-and-ring-turned H-form stretcher covered overall in an 18th century gros and petit point figural needlework worked in wool with silk highlights, possibly original, the underside with Irwin Untermeyer collection label marked 'IRWIN UNTERMYER COLLECTION/ 289/ F' and also painted white inventory number '1238'
