The needlework upholstery largely re-worked and now with some scattered losses, tears, splits and repairs; recommend stabilizing, particularly to the seat. The back and sides upholstered in a pieced blue slub silk with evidence of some minor water damage; the silk piping to edges with heavy rubbing revealing batting beneath in areas. Overall with nicks, marks, scratches and shrinkage cracks consistent with age and use. With signs of old worm holes, now inactive. Previously with casters. With a spliced repair to the front right foot. Signs of chipped losses and restoration to brackets and the top of the legs. Later glue blocks. With sticker marked 'IRWIN UNTERMYER COLLECTION/ 289/F' to underside. Structurally secure.
