The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

With a clean, complete well-maintained appearance, structurally sound and ready to use. Some evidence of previous woodworm damage, now inactive, to the underside. Some general wear, consistent with age and use, throughout the surface, including a few more prominent scratches and marks to the leather writing surfaces. The ormolu molding around the top has not been possible to remove, but the absence of visible seams suggests it has possibly been replaced. The locks probably replaced. Overall good condition, nicely proportioned, good overall presentation.
