The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Presenting well overall. The whole with general overall marks, nicks, surface scratches, tiny losses and repairs consistent with age and use. The leather writing surface with the typical minor wear consistent with age and use, some touch-ups to the gilt border and a long horizontal split to its proper right side. The veneers with scattered fraying, lifting, and minor cracks with minor areas of losses and signs of infill, replacements and restorations, the largest generally around the apron. The whole with a polished finish. The underside with a fair amount of old glue residue from previous repairs or stabilizing, most prominently atop the four legs. There is some evidence of previous woodworm damage, now inactive, to the underside, and some minor debris accumulation in recessed areas. Overall good scale, structurally sound and ready to use.
