The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Presenting well overall, the marble with the typical scratches, scuffs, small chips, 'nibbles', small areas of infill and restorations, the darker inkwell with some more prominent restoration to its side. The ormolu with some minor surface scratches, casting flaws, oxidation, verdigris and rubbing, as to be expected. One of the rosettes to the corner blocks off, but retained. The feet and the plaques beneath the inkwell pedestals are later.
