The present pair of chairs can be attributed to Clerkenwell cabinetmaker Giles Grendey on a stylistic basis. They relate closely to a more elaborate pair of armchairs formerly at Bulstrode Park, Buckinghamshire, most recently sold Christie's, 13 November 2018, lot 25 (50,000 GBP).
