The arms are those of Lamb impaling Milbanke, for Sir Peniston Lamb (1745-1828), 2nd baronet, 1st Viscount Melbourne of Melbourne Hall, Derbyshire, only son and heir of Sir Matthew Lamb 1st baronet, and his wife Elizabeth Milbanke (1715- 1818), daughter of Sir Ralph Milbanke, 5th baronet, who were married in 1769.
