Of breakfront form, the brèche d'Alep marble top over two drawers with laurel-wreath pulls and escutcheons, supported on cabriole legs, the whole decorated in the chinoiserie taste with figures in landscapes, the marble inscribed 'MRS CHADWICK' at its underside over a larger faint cursive inscription (possibly 'Hancock'), the carcase inscribed at its top '194' in graphite and '72-E' in ink
