The tureen bombé on four scrolled feet headed by oak leaves and acorns, with two branch-form handles springing from foliage, applied on both sides with two coats-of-arms accolé below a marquis's coronet within foliate scroll mantling, the domed cover with entrelac border and finial fully modeled as various vegetables, the shaped-circular stand with entrelac border and shell-form handles flanked by acanthus, the circular well engraved with the same coats-of-arms accolé below a marquis's coronet within foliate scroll mantling, marked throughout with maker's mark, date letter T, charge and decharge, further with Paris standard 1819-1838 and boar's head control mark post-1838, the cover engraved on the flange No 23, the stand engraved on the underside No 23 J.B. Cheret fecit
