The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Some light wear and scratches; some touch-ups throughout; some small firing flaws (speckles, firing lines, etc.) in the making; further details and sizes enumerated below:
A vase-form ice-cream cooler and cover, 151⁄2 in. high-- The cooler body with numerous overpainted cracks, the restorer has added gilt swags to the exterior to try to obscure many of the cracks, one ring handle rested; the cover with a star crack to its underside/interior and with a chip mostly to the underside of its flaring rim. This form usually takes a liner.
Two sauce tureens and covers on fixed stands with double-compartment inner liners, 103⁄4 in. long-- One fixed stand broken in 2 pieces with a Y-shaped crack and restored, the old overpaint now yellowed; the other tureen with a faint hairline extending from the rim (approx. 3 in.).
Three low compotes, 83⁄8 in. diameter-- Good condition, light wear; a few scattered craze lines; one with a very slightly discolored spot to the center.
Five oval dishes, 101⁄4 in. long-- Good condition; some light stacking wear.
Fourteen plates, 87⁄8 in. - 93⁄8 in. diameter- Slight variations in size and in the brightness of the blue; most in good condition; some wear to the gilding at the rims/well; a few scattered short glaze lines; one plate with a touched-up triangular rim chip; one plate lightly discolored to the underside; one plate with a touched-up hairline to the underside at center; one with a hairline rim crack (approx. 21⁄2 in. long).
