The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Good overall presentation. The ormolu with some minor surface scratches, slight casting inconsistencies, light oxidation and rubbing, as to be expected; some more scratching and small marks to the base on the side with the geographer. Rich gilding throughout, cleaned to a bright tone. The dial with the typical light scratches and scuffs to its surface as well as a few very faint hairlines and the typical minute chips around the winding holes; there is some restoration to the surface between the 6 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions, slightly differing in tone from the white enameled ground. Overall good, ready to place.
