The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In good condition, ready to place. The sleight height difference is not apparent when the vases are placed, may originate in an old restoration at an unseen area. As stated in the cataloguing, the ormolu plinths are later. The ormolu generally with some minor surface scratches, slight casting inconsistencies, light oxidation and rubbing, as to be expected; with some minor dings, as to be expected; re-gilt with signs of earlier mercury gilding. There is a break to the rope-twist mount on the slightly shorter candelabrum, near one of the ram masks; the rope-twist mounts are possibly later. Some replacements to pistils and stamens at the lilies. Several garlands with soldered repairs. The stone with light scratches throughout and some chips and 'nibbles', mainly along edges, not extensive, and consistent with use and handling. Some wax residue at the nozzle interiors. Overall in good order.
