The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
There are the inevitable surface scratches, nicks and chips consistent with age and handling.
Portrait medallions :
Some natural veins inherent with the material.
Chips to the edges.
Some dust to the crevices.
No fixation ring to the back.
Some painting traces to the lower part of Caligula (edges and back).
Phocas column :
Restorations to the column including below the capital and to the lower part of the fluted stem.
Minor chips to the capital.
Dust tp the crevices.
Chips to the black base.
Small bath : good overall condition.
Two visible black cracks inherent with the material.
One natural hole filed in with a piece of marble and resine.
Minor chips to the edges.
Big bath :
A visible restoration with filed in red resine.
A restored chip to the lower part.
Orbe column : The elements are reattached with visible glue.
Including some old traces of glue to the lower part.
A loss to the upper part of the column.
Some stains and rubbed areas to the gilt bronze upper part.
Dust to crevices, inluding to the gilt metal pearl frieze.
Some chips to the edges, including to the corners.
