Each with gadrooned border and on three crimped shell feet, the scroll handle similarly crimped, engraved with a crest under Earl coronet, marked underneath and with scratch weight 18=12=0 and 18=5=0; with later French control mark

The crest is either that of Plunkett, possibly for Arthur James Plunket, 7th Earl of Fingall (1731–1793), or that of Cochrane, possibly for William Cochrane, 7th Earl of Dundonald (1729–1758).
